Our UPS Rep gave me free tickets to the NHL All Star Game last night at Philips Arena. I invited john, my sales manager to come with me. He and one of his sales agents had volunteered both days for the game and I couldn't believe how excited he was when I told him I got us some tickets.
I hadn't been to a hockey game in over 10 years, so I was excited, too. Our seats were great, only one row from the glass. We were actually closer to the action than some of the NHL Hall of Famers that were sitting several rows behind us.
The game was fun, although a bit uneventful. I guess nobody wanted to get seriously hurt. I guess the purpose of an All Star game is just that, to have all the fan favorites play a fun game, give away big prizes (a car for example), mascots everywhere, and lots of freebies. The Eastern team scored the first goal only 12 seconds into the game and came leading by a big margin into the 2nd (5:0), then the Western team caught up, but in the end the Eastern team came out on top at 8:7.
I think next time I will go to a "real" game, though.
Donnie has become a HUGE Thrasher fan in the past few years. He keeps finding ways to get tickets at work. I think he's only had to pay for one game so far this season. I don't really like to go with him because he turns into this crazy fan when he's there. If you ever want to go with him, I'm sure he'd be thrilled for an excuse to head downtown to a game. I think he's going to try to get some autographs at practice tomorrow up in Duluth. I'm telling you, he's crazy about his hockey.
ReplyDeleteHerb,
ReplyDeleteHarrison is SOOOO evious that you got to go to the game. Then, Harry and Harrison saw the pictures and REALLY started to whine that they didn't get to go.
