Before we started I noticed the butter had been flattened in the wrapper, I guess he was checking the temperature. He brought his own stool, and promptly turned on the mixer while holding the paddle in his hand and hooking it on the moving part sideway, while still holding on. Luckily I was there, because he was almost knocked off his stool. After one more time turning on the mixer I got the brilliant idea to unplug it.

Thankfully, my little "helper" was happy to go into the family room to play while I baked the cookies. Of course, in his hand he had a tablespoon with dough piled high to his delight. Baked cookies are not the ultimate goal in our house, it's all about the dough. Thanks to Herb for that one!
Almost everyday when the kids come home, they open the fridge in the garage to see what they can get. One day Henry said, "Eggs! Can I have some for dinner?" I made him shut the door and go inside. Once inside, I realized Alex had not followed. I opened the door to find him holding the 18 count carton of eggs lopsided with eggs running out of the end of the carton. Ahhhhh! He left a trail of egg soup on the rugs leading from the fridge all the way to the door. Thank goodness for the garden hose!
Well, why have three kids at home when one keeps you busy like that !? ;-) Too funny...
ReplyDeleteJust read your blog for the first time. Jacque said you have a cute background - and you DO!! Enjoy the kidlife! I miss going to PTC ward!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think next time you should wait until Alex takes a nap to bake cookies :c).
ReplyDeleteeggs on the carpet!! yikes. i've unplugged the kitchen aid on fritzy too before when he was helping. he also loves to throw flour too. oh, and climb on the counter and bang the pots with a wooden spoon. i do enjoy how much he loves to help though.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me and my days. I keep telling myself to just breathe! How about you?
ReplyDeleteHe sounds so busy. What a big helper you have. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteRyan doesn't squeeze the butter, she opens it and eats it. She also likes to add random ingredients one sneaky tsp at a time. I have so many secret recipes that I don't even know how to make, it is all the creation of a two year old!
ReplyDeleteI love all the help that little ones give.
ReplyDeleteOkay so I'm blog stalking and you have a great blog. I think that I need to come take lessons. Love the picture on the right. I have to learn how you did that. I think that you need to get Max and Gavin together they could mess up a kitchen really fast.
