A dog named Spot!

It started yesterday with just a few spots on Henry's legs. Elizabeth gave him some Benadryl, which helped a little bit. This morning we woke up to this:

When Henry got mad at Maxi a little later and fake-bit him, Maxi was convinced that Henry was turning into a dog. We're not sure if part of him was concerned about his brother or more excited about the prospect of getting a dog named "Spot"...

Needless to say we were quite worried and Elizabeth took him this morning to see his pediatrician. Come to find out he is allergic to Penicillin! Sophie, Henry and Alex have all been on antibiotics for the past 10 days for their strep-throat. Now we'll have to give him Benadryl three times a day for the next 3-4 days and today he already napped for two drug-induced hours. That would make for a great break for Elizabeth if it weren't for three more silly kids running amok!

PS: Can you tell who's been giving his Daddy an attitude for the last two days?

  5. That is gross and sad all at once but at least you know how to prevent it from coming back, and don't be hurt......doesn't Alex give everyone that look :)

  6. Tell him it will be all right. I'm allergic to pennicillin, too and I'm reasonably healthy. But, it's no fun to go to the pharmacy when they prescribe exotic antibiotics for you. The pharmacists give you funny looks beccause they are always convinced you have an STD because why else would somebody take those expensive drugs! You don't have to tell him that part! Let him figure it out on his own once he's grown up! :D

  7. Aveeno Oatmeal bath...it's a lifesaver! Poor Henry. I understand how it feels to break out like this. This is what happened to me two days after my first massage. UGH! I hope he's feeling better.

  8. Poor little guy - that rash does not look like fun at all. I am itchy just looking at him. Hope everybody recovers quickly!
